Alistair, I wouldn't believe everything you find on social media, especially FB. Some make a point of posting misleading posts on there, others miss great chunks out. And others post very little of any importance.

Quite agree about the ramps though, everyone will have different uses and therefore different preferences.

Does anyone successfully use a 2 post ramp to work on a RR Classic? I appreciate the jack points are diffs and axle beams not cills - do 2 post lifts work ok without having jack points on the cill sections?

I've got access to a 2-post lift to do a couple of jobs.

Was thinking I should buy 4 of the BMW/Mini rubber jack adaptors...?
Or will I be ok to just position the lifting pads under the jack points and just lift against the box section?

What about my deployable steps? Lock out maybe?

Just want to be sure I'm good to go when I arrive.

@GGDR you can lift directly on the jacking points once you've lined the 2 poster up.

Unless the lift has very long post adapters, you'll need to remove the deployable side step treads. It's a PITA and the only downside of these steps. __
