Ireland 2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey

So had the remap for 2 tanks of diesel now and about 1600 kilometres , it does feel quicker in the lower gears and the throttle response still feels much sharper. Mpg wise, no difference although for the first tank i was ' enjoying ' the remap but it didn't seem to affect the mpg , i normally see 8.9 to 9.2 L/100km or 32 to 31 mpg ( rounded up) , and I'm on 9.0 L/100km with 1/2 tank to go as of this evening so no real difference.

The hydroponic polish arrived today, much easier to put on than the ' back to black ' polish i normally use but time will tell regarding how it lasts.

Just an update , needed a new passenger side lower control arm as it was creaking while turning left so i changed all the lower arms and ball joints on both sides while it was on the ramp. Got the tracking done but they couldn't move the rear adjusters so back onto the ramp it goes !!. Also replaced drivers side E pillar because the top rubber strip had frayed.

I bought a set of 21 inch L405s for very cheap money on ebay and awaiting their arrival. Otherwise Beelzebub is running great. Remap seems to be inproving the power weekly or maybe its just psychological. Still loving it, i have a customer that just bought 2 no new L405s ,( him and his mrs) and i still think mine looks great next to them. ( not that i can afford one, let alone two !!!) I have done about 30k kilometres since i bought it just under a year ago and its been faultless and no big bills. Wonderful cars.

That's it for now Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

So i ordered a new compressor today from a german manufacturer, its VERY cheap so we shall see. Its supposed to be an AMK replacement as opposed to the Hitachi that i have at the moment. I shall report once it arrives. 2015 4.4 AB

Small update, finally fitted my style 101 21" alloys and they fill the arches nicely. I did notice that the Michelin 255 55 20s i have on my 2011 rims had a very substantial rim protector which the 275 45 21 Pirellis don't. No differance in ride that i have noticed but maybe a bit more turn in grip ( proberbly placebo effect). No issues with my RR and running like a dream. Just oil changes and filters every 6-8k kilometres and a gearbox filter and flush next week as 40k kilometres covered since the last one. I have EBC yellow stuff pads and discs on order and I still haven't fitted my new compressor but soon.

On another note the dealer I get my cars from offered me this,

http://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/land-rover...9150540928

And while its nice , the exterior / interior colour didn't really appeal. It's very well equipped and there isn't alot of choice over here for 4.4s. I know alot of people on here love their L405 but it just doesn't 'feel as 'Range Rovery' to me, obviously just my opinion and no doubt i will end up with one at some stage. For the interested the VRT ( vehicle registration tax) we have to pay over here was 36k euro, thats what the dealer paid 2 weeks ago to get it on Irish plates !!!!! Bloody EU exemptions.

That's all folks !! 2015 4.4 AB

Had new discs and pads fitted all round today, EBC discs, yellow stuff front and ebc discs and green stuff rear. Drivers side rear disc was badly scored and pads down to nothing, the caliper was stuck. The wheel nuts on this wheel had started to swell and were awkward to remove from socket. All other wheel nuts on the car are 100%. Just seems a bit weird that all four on that wheel ( 5th is a locking nut) are swelling and the caliper was seized. All other bolts , caliper and carrier were perfect too) 2015 4.4 AB

Hi Stan , I've had the fronts on since last tuesday so I've covered about 600 kilometres and just starting to use them properly and today had the rear done so back to being a bit gentle with them until they bed in. I will keep the post updated with my opinion on the results.

just changed to green stuff on the front myself.
They are supposed to be low dust but I'm still finding a bit too much dust.
Better than the last dust machines, but still no nirvana.
They claim significantly reduced stopping distance, which is reassuring.
. Cheers, Greg

I import EBC for the Irish distributor and i have used the EBC stuff for years. He recommended the yellow stuff for the front because even though they are the ' race / fast road' option , the latest compoud is supposed to be better than green stuff ( better or atleast as good as standard ) when cold and once up to operating temp they are supposed to be excellent. Time will tell Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

Ireland 2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey

Hi all , bit of advice, i mentioned a 15 Autobiography 4.4 recently and dealer has come back ( unsolicited) with an offer on mine that is close to what i paid him for it 16 months ago and 55k kilometres less. I have the L405 again and i genuinely prefer my L322 so that aside for the moment, the L405 has 40k miles on it so i would get 2/3 years out of it before mileage got too high ( again). It's an Autobiography so has most extras but no deployables ( a must for me) and has the 'silver pack' which i would change for black pack. Also it would need a remap as its not got the grunt of my remapped L322.

Anyone have any advice on what issues to look for on the L405 , as i say I've got it for the weekend so can have a good look. Its just had a service with main dealer so all good there. Thanks in advance Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

Well i bought the 2015 4.4 autobiography. My faultless 2011 4.4 tdv8 left today , it was a fantastic machine and never let me down. It was unmarked inside and out it was a sad sight seeing it driving out of the yard today. My favourite car by far to date.

The Autobiography is nice, doesn't have the appeal of the L322 for me but i have it now and mileage forced my hand. Black pack is ordered , depolyables are ordered , black wheel nuts , black lettering and it has a factory black roof from the factory.

A couple of questions i downloaded the 2015 brochure and it appears the autobiography comes with almost everything as standard but mine lacks traffic sign recognition and lane departure. Should these not be standard fit as per the brochure? 2015 4.4 AB
