i have been told that de cating (putting a through pipe in ) is now an mot failure since may this year , i was hoping to present it on gas so no emissions problem . anybody in the know??

To think we used to breath this cr*p in all the time, but it’s pretty easy to smell the stink from a modern car that’s had its catalyst removed. Please think again

As I understand it if a car was fitted with a cat at manufacture and it has been removed it is now an instant mot fail irrespective of fuel type and emissions. It used to be the case that a cat was not legally required as long as the car could meet the emissions standards.
Times have changed for the better.
I personally would not recommend removing a cat, cars really stink without them.

I removed the cat from my old bmw 530d (basically a td6) and regretted it as it smelt like a tractor!
