Looking at snow chains as can get pretty hairy in Italian alps regardless of what legally you need
Have 20” alloys on a l322 supercharge and as are expensive alloys, bothered some snow chains will scratch them
Anyone got any experience on which are best and also don’t take a formula 1 tyre change crew to fit them
Cost not an issue if easy to fit and don’t wreck my alloys costing more than the snow chains !

I have Thule K77's for my L405 22's

Seem straightforward to fit, but I've never had to use them in anger - always been OK with winter tyres (so far)

The LR accessory for 20" wheels is the "snow traction system" which seems to clamp on to the wheel with four arms going over the tyre tread which presumably provide the snow traction. Part no LR005737. These go on the front wheels (only). LR describe them as "easy fit", but I have never tried them. The 405 equivalent looks similar but is a different part number.

The LR accessory chains by contrast are stated to be for 18" or 19" wheels and go on the rear wheels. I recall someone on here saying they had used chains on 20" wheels, but as LR say not, then I wouldn't do it.

Incidentally if anyone wants LR chains (for 18" or 19" rear wheels as stated) I have an unused set (the carrier is a bit marked from being in the boot during several winters) which I would be happy to sell for £50. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I bought the LR snow traction system before a skiing trip a couple of years ago and found them easy to fit at home. How it would be in cold, snowy conditions I don't know because I didn't need to use them. I will probably post them for sale in autumn as I don't believe we will have any more such trips.
