Castrol Edge

I wonder if any of you oil experts would be so kind as to comment on the following.

I have just come from the VW Touareg camp into the FFRR 4.4 V8 Camp. I have a quantity of oil from the Touareg, new and sealed, this was long life oil capable of 24,000 miles (not for me it wasnt). It is I believe the right viscosity 5w 30 and I would have thought it would exceed the LR spec. Can I use this in my Rangie?

Am I right in believing I can attach vacuum suction to the tiny pipe with the cap on it at the side of the oil filler or do I have to feed a suction pipe down the middle of the tube?

Sorry if its been answered before, I couldnt find it.

I think the correct spec is C1 so I wouldn't risk it. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

It's a DPF oil alright but I'm not sure that makes it okay for this engine. It's not 'better' than C1, it's different. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Advanced Factors or Opie Oils will offer you a range of correct spec oils from different suppliers at very good prices. Personally, I don't feel you have to go for big brand names, just the correct spec for the engine and change it frequently. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate
