Just reading the manual for the link Stan shared....
This one is for the video interface box:
https://car-solutions.com/nfs/product/8212...manual.pdf

gets interesting page 13 - shows a the RR steering wheel. And CAN Bus hotwire...
page 14 shows how it hooks into the LR system.

...still reading...

Also the separate Android Navigation Box manual is here: https://car-solutions.com/nfs/product/8544..._EN_v2.pdf

thats interesting Greg...it confirms that a video interface is needed for the nav box...you'd think that the two could be integrated into one box ... ... - .- -.

car-solutions.com (Stan's post) confirmed the following overnight:
(I told them I do not have a Dual View so which unit can I use?)

It's pricey at £450 plus import duty and VAT probably ending up at around £600 all-in.

Did anyone install this system?

I'd be very interested to see if it works, and it it's good quality and actually installable.

Thanks for any feedback

I didn't go any further on this just based on cost.

Getting a decent Nav on the screen is still the holy grail though....

I've bought a 3G iPad to mount up somehow, haven't got to that job yet. Thinking along the lines of Baltic Blue's set up here:

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic48264-15.html

But I want a 'no cable' look. This one's at the back of my jobs queue....

But if the video interface set up price came down, I'd look at this again. Hoping cheap chinese electronics may be able to save the day.

. Cheers, Greg

Did anyone figure out what the dealers actually do to perform an update ?
I recall a discussion about firewire, but where do they plug it in ?
And where is the drive for the nav, in the boot or in the head unit ? Too many toys, not enough time

The workshop Manual is delightfully vague when referring to sat Nav map updates but this diagram suggests that the FireWire plugs into the head unit ?

There are some drawbacks, no audio for example.
And no touchscreen, only the phone. It's purely video out from the phone.
So you need the phone handy to control the map etc.

Notice he reaches down and switches the video input somewhere off camera.
Would be nicer if you could hit the NAV button on the dash and it switches to the phone.

Still pretty cool, if it wasn't too expensive.
And I'd want to have ability to leave any music playing. Cheers, Greg
