I have had this fault code come up for a while now, and searching the archives it appears I am not the only one. It has been raised before, but in a thread whose main topic is warranty claims:

Many thanks. I had missed the other thread. I think I will leave well alone unless I start getting problems. 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4

Found this in the workshop manual:
What I think many don't realise, as mentioned on the thread GraemeS has linked above is that this inlet sensor, called Sensor A is (probably*) on the manifold and not on the EGR. This is a long way from the EGR so at face value, you get an error on the EGR sensor, change the sensor (Sensor B) and the fault comes back. Why? The wrong sensor's been changed probably. Being Sensor B. This is not in all cases and my own theory. But it may explain why many have tried to fix this, the fault's come back and anecdotal opinion seems to end up as "they all do that". I'll be changing mine as I have DPF issues so I will prove - or disprove my theory. Pls see the thread GraemeS has linked above for updates. *Sensor A or B's location is not documented (part of the problem) as far as I can see in the WM but there are several contributing factors to this including CTC's advice. .
