Caliper painting

Has any one done this on their RR??

If so what do you find is the best paint to use?? ive been told to stay away from caliper paint as its too thick and doesnt apply very well??

I used a strong acid cleaner on my wheels - and its stripped the brembos and they are now just a white colour.

Ive got the brembo paint masks ready to go, jsut thought someone might have done this and have a reccomendation for heat proof paint...........

Cheers

Not done on on the L322, but have done it on other cars. I used Halfrauds Caliper Paint. I didn't find it too thick, quite the opposite, I used 3 coats to get a good covering. It still flaked after about 2 years, though I suspect this may have been down to poor surface prep as the calipers were 10 y/o allready and were very pitted.

It never looked great, and yellow isn't very "Range Rover" so I always regreted it! Big Cry

So my only tip for this, whatever paint you use make sure the surface is 100% grease/dirt/dust free.

Seems you can have it in a can or a pot.

Are you going to remove them from the car to paint? I used a brush to do mine, it was easier as they were still on the car.

I'm not sure what colours you'll get from Halfords, their webshite isnt great.

thanks, that site is blocked for me at work just now.

i think ill take them off to do, ive got wheels to change over so i thought i would just re-do them then.

if i can keep them on and mask them ill just leave them on - saves having to bleed the brakes. Smile
