Had the same click under braking found it to be a control arm bolt not tight enough after replacing arm also have a look at caliper bolts as they can sheer .Up on ramp big bar and a bit of grunt on all bolts .Good luck |

Check the drop links aswel they can be a suspect if it's happening when braking don't see how it could be transfer box |

Still sounds like a loose bolt these bolts have to be realy tight and can be a swine to diagnose as they seem tight I had same noise with mine after fitting aftermarket arm and I thought I had tightened it pretty tight but when I had a bar on nut and spanner wedged on but lying on my back with foot on it and used a lot of grunt it shut it up .Mine sounded like someone hitting bare metal with a hammer when braking and reset itself until next time I braked .Very annoying |

Sound location can be deceiving. I was convinced I had a knocking at the rear of the car.

Def worth checking bolts .They need to be real tight .Check caliper bolts and drop links . Probably find anti roll bar bushes are ok opposing forces make rattles and bumps hard to track .as in left hand drop link worn knock on right side you can spend a lot on wrong side if you don't find it .Get a few bodies to rock her hard with someone under her and you may find prob |

If you get a clunk when tapping the brakes or when braking suddenly you maybe can feel it thro the steering it's normally a bush off somewhere even new ones fail .
