Cheaper tax band is pre-23rd March 2006, so the first 23 days of 06-plate registrations come under it too.

Here's an 06-plate with the older-style windows, presumably sat around for a while before being registered.

The glass is different, it's not just a trim over the top of the earlier ones.

The main reason the rear's get done is due to safety... The age old ind/brake light issue i.e. when braking in the rain the indicator gets somewhat masked by the glare of the brake light... Obviously the 09> rear lights don't have such issues...

Ah I can sort of see that, however (and it's just my experience!) - the only time I've had someone following and get confused was when I was in my 5.0! She claimed she didn't see me indicate (let's ignore the 3 ton thing actually turning), and yes, I agree the lighting is much better on those. Nowt so weird as mother in laws tho..... Land Rover Addict

re the indicator/brake issue, i've replaced my OE bulb with cree led and the 'difference' between the ind/brake is more noticeable..pl118 [ryan] has done the same and theres a tread one here somewhere re this.. ... - .- -.

that is not a huge price diff IMO , they drop about £600 - 700 a month on book i was told over the first 3 years

So the 11 Plates are just about done with big losses the 61 Plate will continue to drop as above then slow down.

I have just been offered £43K for my 18,000 11 plate miles like new TDv8 SE by dealers as a cash buy ( bnot a PX ) they would sell it at 48K i would think as low miles and is mint inside and out so they do not even need to clean it. Far to many gone...

Wow! This is some thread!

What is the difference with the C pillars?

My real question is, I am going to purchase a MY11 VSE, but I like the look of the MY12 (or is the MY11.5? Very Happy ) Westminster. I don't want a Westminster as I'd like the Adaptive Cruise and the VSE seats...

So, can the MY11 lights be modified to be 2012? I.E. can they be taken apart, silver bits painted black, and put back together? I'm not too worried about the silver trim splitter, as I'll probably be fitting a winch anyway, but are they available separately? Is there anything else massively different?

Thanks and sorry for bringing up an old fight - I mean thread Smile (Runs off to hide in the corner!)

the silver trim at the front can be replaced with black or visa versa, bit iirc its an absolute PITA to get off.

Buy the nicest one you can find and don't worry too much about trim levels and gizmos, just more to go wrong.

Read up on the semi analine leather, some have found it wears ok and some its worn out in 20k. the Westminster/vogue seats are far more forgiving to wear! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
