Suggestions for the 2020 FFRR

Starting a thread to see if it appeals.

Let’s give JLR some ideas of the minor things they can do when they next design the FFRR .. of course we would like an engine which is twice the size half the price and non polluting.... but there may be little wrinkles that can help

For example “going to go double’s “ attempts to locate some space in the tail gate. We need more cubby holes!!!!!

I would add..

The passenger side top cubby hole sits at an angle, would be really handy if it sat flat

Cruise control - option ‘to switch to ‘ old fashioned “speed only “ without all the distance/alert gubbings. Which doesn’t suit my driving and certainly increases fuel consumption, the old system helped fuel consumption.

Bring back the sunglasses holder

Auto shut doors, they are a bloody long way away if I put my seat belt on first!

Start /stop button is also a long way away..could be set forward on a different panel . & No I haven’t got short arms, but a large but efficient food consumption unit to contend with!

Include ad blue levels in normal menu as well as on the app menu -

A symbol to show the doors are soft close.... people do slam them. Free half day training for wife!

Option for a larger petrol/diesel tank

I want the mercedes ‘park by app’ for tight spaces in car parks. Just yesterday I nearly got a ticket as parked over the line in a free car park at Lakeside.... Most car park spaces are all to small to open a large door fully.

A different product on the walls of the boot... my dog leaves half of its coat on it.

I hope others will have more suggestions to add and eventually JLR may adopt. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

Definitely bring back the dipstick.
No problem with keeping electronic method for day to day checks, but need a proper old fashion dipstick when changing oil.

No, get rid of all gear levers and selectors - vehicles in the 21st century just need a forward and reverse button on the steering wheel, and a fully automatic handbrake. That is why and what WE are paying £100k plus for a vehicle for 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I like the idea of using existing cameras as recordable cameras too.

Sort out the perceived security issue over the in control app, and also the keyless entry (in fact issue that as an update to current cars) Too many toys, not enough time

Reintroduce a simple retractable dog guard / luggage net (like this:

)
Increased boot space for the PHEV version – full spare wheel for PHEV. Electric tow bar for the PHEV.

Have an option to select different layouts for the digital dash, like one where all the text is in a much larger font for people that normally need reading glasses for smaller fonts. There is plenty of black screen space to allow for larger fonts. RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

CarPlay support, as announced as Launch Partners in 2014! (Not that I'll be getting an L405 for a while!)

Please don’t move away from the rotary gear selector, unless it’s to move it onto the steering wheel. The worst move would be to fit it with the horribly complicated and infuriating, safety interlock ridden, gear lever from the RRS Evil or Very Mad

And in the UK make it an option that tops out at around 100 and has all of the ten mile per hour incruments. I must be getting really old! Shocked

“County” trim level - useful tyres, zero chintz, a couple of decent green colour options (obviously not going to happen, the next one will be spanglier than Liberace's bedroom).
