Is there a way to spot a genuine one (2005), the seller says it is, but I don't think so.. If I remember correctly, don't they have a build plate attached somewhere on the body?

should be a plate on the slam panel but i suppose you could get one if you realy wanted to, check with a dealer,give them the vin and they will tell you.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

I'm not sure if HPI would actually come up as 'Autobiography'?

& HPI can be "corrected" plus they don't guarantee trim levels.

Download Microcat, this allows you to put the reg no in and get all the build info. 

yes my plate is under the bonnet at the front, should be a plate saying Land rover special vehicles marked with varius info.
