So this has happened to me twice. The first time, a few weeks (months?) ago, I didn't notice when it happened but realised at some point that the time and date were wrong. I reset the time and date and all has been well since.

Last night getting home from an uneventful and unremarkable 1hr motorway trip, park on the drive, switch her off and hear a funny noise that I quickly realise is the analogue clock hands whizzing round to 12 o'clock. The date also reset to 1st Jan, not sure of year but possibly 2009? Basically day 1 as far as the FF is concerned!

So what is causing this lovely intermittent fault? The stereo is not losing presets, nor the seats / steering column memory positions so not convinced it is a battery issue?

Any clues from you learned brethren? Bish.

Just guessing, but I think I would start by changing the clock fuse.
The very action of taking it out and replacing it might be enough to blow the Fault away.
