discount on pre-reg 2017MY v's pre-reg MY2018

Not sure if I am putting this in the correct section - so apologies in advance....

So after much research and searching for a new RR..

Both cars below are 4.4's AB.

I could go for a pre-reg (few hundred miles) 2018MY in the colour /spec that I would be very happy with - advertised price around £108K (configuration list price for the same spec is c. £111K)

or .....
I could go for a MY2017 car (with virtually zero miles,on an 18 plate) in virtually the same spec as above - advertised in the mid 80K.

Big difference!
Would love to hear feedback on :
a. Am I being stupid to even consider the 18MY car given the difference in cost?
b. Does anybody have an handle on how much discount I could expect to achieve on either cars given they are pre-reg and physically sat there.

What would you do?

Many thanks!

Easy answer, if I was in the market I'd buy the 2017MY 2021 D350 Fifty Edition
2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography -
2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Gone, but not forgotten

If both cars are on the 18 plate then 2017MY as in three years the value will be based solely on the reg and spec.

I went for an 18 plate MY17 with delivery miles and saved £20k. That's a big saving for a new grille and some improvements that are backward steps in my opinion.
I'm not jealous or feel I want to upgrade every time I see a new model in fact I don't particularly like the new grille so I'm very happy with mine but it has started to have a few electronic issues.

Are the electronic faults all to do with the infotainment?

Is the 17MY also in a colour scheme that you like? If so, it’s a complete “no brainier” at that level of discount!! Thumbs Up

I've had camera's 'not working', infotainment freezing on start up, dipped beamed headlamp fault so standard issue MY17 faults. Dealer has had a look but can't see anything wrong.
I've also had a pungent odour from the heating especially when you give it the beans, really unpleasant which they have applied an update for so we'll see but only when it gets cold later in the year.
Also, some trim on the roof looks badly fitted so all in all a good example Big Cry

In regards colour I've gone for Santorini black with black pack, happy with that !

Finally picked the car up at the weekend. Here it is : capathaian grey AB with ivory interior +options of privacy, larger washer bottle, fridge, upgraded headlamps, 22in wheels and massage seats(not sure if they are standard ) (10 miles on the clock and an 18 plate)think I got the lowest price I could after much negotiation - what I paid v’s a 2018my with the same spec was around a 27k difference. Very happy with the result.
