Could someone please do me a Massive favour?
My wife has reduced mobility, and struggles to get in and out of vehicles, hence we've sold our MK7 Transit camper.
Before I buy an L322, I would be very gratefull if someone could lower the suspension down to the lowest ACCESS mode , and measure the seat height from the FLOOR.

MOH has just measured our 2008 Tdv8. Passenger seat is approx 76cm from the ground on access height.

FYI I am recovering slowly from a major operation and have reduced mobility. Our L322 has side steps. I am using a stick at the moment but, with the side steps, I can get in and out reasonably easily. I would say you need the side steps but they can be fitted easily and fixed ones can be bought relatively cheaply.

i concur that side steps make getting in and out much easier if you have limited mobility.. ... - .- -.

Fitting sidesteps also benefits the shorter in stature, me included , and can reduce wear and tear on the driver's seat in particular (passengers also if used a lot) .

Unfortunately side steps are not an option, due to lack of leg strength / stability.
She enters the car by shuffling backwards towards the seat, and entering the car bum first, sitting down on the seat sideways. then I swing her legs around. Hence my original question regarding seat height, when in access mode

I don't know if this would help, or even if it's possible, but I'm sure I've read somewhere on here that you can use the IID tool to lower the suspension even further, onto the bump stops. 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

@Mick, From your description side steps would be a problem. However, if you find an L322 with them on already, they are easily removed.

You could always approach a dealer (LR or Independent) who has one for sale without steps to see how your wife would manage. I would think that if they thought there was a possibility of a sale they would be only too happy to accommodate you. John

it depends what year you will buy and if you also purchase a GAP iidtool..

for years 2002-2005 you can independently adjust the access,standard and off road heights so the access can be set to the bump stops in so desired and the rest as they are...

from the years onwards from 2006 ,any height adjustment will affect all modes equally.. ... - .- -.

After some internet research, I think the very LOWEST the suspension can go, is " TRANSPORTATION MODE " .
This is where the suspension is lowered onto the bump stops.
Anyone know how much lower than the " ACCESS MODE ", this TRANSPORTATION MODE is ?

Hi Mick,yes, the FF was in access mode when the measurement was taken

Found this on the Internet, hope it helps:

Transportation Mode
To enable the vehicle to be delivered safely from the factory to the dealership, the air suspension system is set in
transportation mode. When the engine is running, the ride height will be set at 'Transportation High', which is 20 mm
below standard ride height. All four LED's will remain illuminated. When the engine is not running, the air suspension ECU will drop the ride height by 50 mm (Transportation Low). All four LED's will flash. When the ride height is at 'Transportation Low' the vehicle can be lashed to a transporter, without the risk of loosening due to the suspension ride height lowering.
