I am having a slight wobble it feels from the rear as you feel it in the drivers seat. It happens at all speeds I have plugged in
My iidtool no faults, gear change faultless. Thought it might be torque converter so put in some dr tranny no real change.
Drove with iidtool showing torque converter and turbine speed it moves from open to is it response then to closed all fine and
Turbine speed goes up and down with out jumping around so don't think it's that. All oils have been changed.

It's not massive just annoying abit like an uneven road surface. No vibration or anything anywhere. I noticed on the 4.4 tdv8
Which needs a gearbox update to resolve a similar problem is there one on the 3.6?

my guess would be to check the tyres for bulges or warping and the wheels for any damage ... ... - .- -.

I did think of that I've had all four rebalanced but was thinking of swapping front to back just to rule that out.

In addition, I think I'd be inclined to jack up the rear wheels and give them a good wobble to look for any worn bushes/joints etc or anything that looks out of whack just make sure all is Ok there.

From what you describe, it could be the rear hub bushes. Do a search on here.

I have had a poke around the back end! Couldn’t see anything
Even with my big pry bar. But will have a look at the hub bushes.

Big job to do yourself or expensive to have done?

+1 on checking the rear bushes / ball joints.
How many miles has your car done ?

I've just changed them all on our late 2006, 125,000 mile TDV8.
All of the them had significant play (top, bottom & toe control), which would have allowed the rear camber & toe-in to vary randomly due to engine load or suspension movement / bumps.
The RHS nominal camber reduced from 2 degrees negative to 1.5 degrees negative afterwards ( hopefully also reducing the excessive tyre wear on that side)
The car does feel slightly better now, but for info, I briefly had to drive 500 yds to fetch something before the bolts were all tightened up on 1 side & I was really surprised how much the car steered itself from the rear as you accelerated & decelerated only lightly (less than 25mph).I think that suggests more bush / joint play could certainly cause wierd steering effects.

When I bought the car there was reference in the MOT history stating minor play at the rear 3 years ago, but not enough for a fail. From the state of all the bushes, bolts etc, nothing was changed at that time or until I did - suggesting their lifespan is probably around 120,000 miles / 10 years. Paul,

Check the rear brakes for excessive heat after a run. Could be a binding Caliper. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It’s done 115k so the back end may have some play. Would this give a sort of constant wobble/ judder feeling in the drivers seat at all speeds?

It's a hard one to judge, you can feel it in the drivers seat. It feels abit like driving over a poor bumpy road but only slight.

I have read that is what a bad torque converter feels like, abit like a cattle grid but it's not as harsh as that and
Mine seems to be behaving.

Is there a way with the iidtool to check correct torque converter function?

I saw your post about having the pads discs and callipers replaced. Still don't rule that out. when mine were binding it felt like what you are describing. It could be the pads sticking in the carriers rather than the calipers themselves. Causing them to bind on the disc slightly.

Also have you spun the wheels on a balancer and had a look at them when they are rotating. It may be you have a rim slightly out of line. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I will check for binding, I have a handheld temp gun which should tell
Me if one is heating up more than the other one. Gonna try swapping wheels
back to front so that should show up a buckle. Does any of it sound like the
Torque converter? Hopefully it’s an easily rightable problem but you know Range Rovers
They do like money spending on them!
