Im new to the site and looking for some help please.

I had a fault pop up on my car saying the egr temp sensor had an open circuit. The car would come up with restricted performance, and eventually, your dpf is full, please visit dealer!!!!

Ive had the sensor changed, and it drove lovely for 10 miles and the back into limp mode.

It now has come up with codes telling me the mass airflow meter isnt working and low boost pressure. I would be grateful of any advice please?

Its a 2012 L322 4.4 TDV8

Check the top right rubber hose from the intake manifold. Take off the plastic engine cover and it the further towards the windscreen on the right hand side- they have a tendency to split. You should be able to either feel the split, or feel oil leaking out.

It's a DIY job to replace, but make sure you do all 4 hoses at the same time as they all degrade alarmingly quickly.

The original 4 hoses are very soft pliable rubber, but the replacements are much tougher.
They cost approx £100 for the 4 with new jubilee clips.

These are the replacements on mine.

the EGR open circuit is a ghost fault too. It crops up on several cars on here and there is pretty much a "they all do that" from time to time attitude from LR. I would doubt it is the cause of your fault. Much more likely to be boost related. While you have the engine cover off check and clean the MAP sensor on the intake plenum. Its the sensor with the red arrow pointing towards it on the pic above. It can get gunked up and give false readings of the pressure in the manifold. which can cause issues too. Bit of contact cleaner should clean it up. just take out the torx screw and the sensor pulls out.

Also give the MAF a clean with the contact cleaner, which may bring it back to life if it is that which is the problem, Check the hoses as above. I still have the original on mine as they haven't failed as yet but it is a weak spot.

If you aren't conversant in spannering then its time to learn. It comes in handy to fix the small problems which can be sorted on the drive in 20 mins rather than not have the car for a day or so while a garage sorts it out.

For example, I've just had Restricted performance on my Disco come up and 20 mins of spannering uncovered the problem and it was fixed with a securing nut from elsewhere in the engine bay from an area which was less critical! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
