JE will do it for 6k but you still may have problems so JE say. You will find indy's that will do it for a lot less but to be honest it's a lot of car to balls up if it goes wrong. Yet to find a perfect installation. I don't think log will ever run perfect on a sc. I was going to do mine but at 6k it ain't worth it. As mentioned if ya wanna LPG a ffrr get a 4.4.

£6K is a lot of gas miles, even in an SC. Ian |

I have a converted 4.4 already, that's what I want to upgrade from. I'm far from convinced that the 4.2 supercharged can't be converted without issue. I've read plenty of posts by people who have converted successfully, and whilst I've read about some which haven't gone wrong, I'm sure that once a company has done a couple successfully, there is little risk.

Well since getting my SC I was under the impression that JE are to people to speak to so when they tell me 6k to do it and that i still may have probs so dont bother I'll listen to them. But as mentioned for some reason the RRS SC seems to convert well so that is confusing???? I was recommended to go to a local installer and when i spoke to em he explained that it can be done but it is tricky. Total cost would be near 3k but car would be perfect. Ok i thought so i popped down to meet him before christmas to talk stuff over etc... he then explains that all LPG conversions have niggles and some never go away but with the fuel savings its ok to accept it. Engine lights on all the time, possible that the SC will never run at full power!!!! WTF!!! so much for a perfect install. The problem is i've yet to speak to two installers that say the same things each has there own opinion on how the SC should be done so thats what makes it confusing. For me there was just to much risk involved. I've waited to long to get a FFRR so i aint gonna mess it up by trying to save the pennies!

Am I right in thinking that FFRR SC, RRS SC & S Type R all share the same 4.2 SC engine? So if one c,an be done all can be done? I have a installer that's just round the corner that has done many s types no problem and says my SC will be no probs

Oh yeah forgot about the xkr. Still very confusing tho why these have been done but the ffrr sc seems to be 50/50 wether it will be any good or not.

Spoke to a very helpful chap at greenfuel today. Apparently there would almost certainly be issues within 30k miles if fitting a standard LPG kit. They get around this by adding in valve lubrication injection. They haven't had any back which they've done on this basis. They did have one of their early installations back with premature valve wear, and so they paid for the hardened valve conversion offered by JE.

That sounds interesting. Please keep us informed as to how this goes as I would be interested in getting mine done if there were no problems.
