L405 or keep Roger?

So ... im considering moving over to an L405 and just visited Aston Martin Newcastle (which is just around the corner from me) as they have an Auto Biography in.

First time even sitting in L405 and together with the driving experience it was a little underwhelming. I didn't like the skinny steering wheel and the presentation of this car was poor - tyre wall black and that's it. There were several tatty trim panels as well as trim marks which hadn't been cleaned off and i don't think its even been hoovered properly. It seemed that since they were full of Astons, Ferrarrirs, Porsches etc, they had no interest in this.

Maybe i need to drive some other ones but driving this didn't give me the sense of occasion i get from my 94k 2010 SE (Roger).

Also came away feeling disloyal to Roger for asking the salesman how much he would give me trading him in against it (£10.5k) Rolling Eyes that would make thier tatty thing worth nearly 5 times as much as Roger Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Here's a gratuitous picture of Roger.

Sounds to me like you would end up paying 40k for a driving experience you would find underwhelming and I suspect given, the not inconsiderable sum, resent the new car.

the L405 is defo a different vehicle...i progressed from a 2005 td6,2008 sc to a 2012 westie and they are all the same apart from newer tech and body upgrades...

i contemplated getting the L405 but the cost difference just didnt make sense especially as i have the last year of the proper range rover...

i'm happy with mine,

What makes a “proper Range Rover” Stan?

I think you'll find Stan that the last year of the proper Range Rover was 1993! Razz Razz

They don''t call it a Classic for nothing! Bish.

Your l322 looks lovely. I'd think you'd have to be mad to swap it for a 405 unless you really want one or have stacks of cash burning a hole in your pocket lol!

Keep your car... forget about the 405... as it appears that you don't want one.

I'm avoiding the early 405's because I live in London and it will get stolen.

My only real advice is to stop calling your car "Roger".

Keep the 322 and the 40k.

Get Roger detailed for a few hundred quid, and it will feel like a different car. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

No, no, no - far too modern!

It needs a maximum of two passenger doors, sliding rear windows, vinyl seats, rubber mats, a 4 speed manual (with lots of transmission whine) and the original black and silver plates, or it can’t possibly be a proper Range Rover Razz

Dont hurt 'Roger's' feelings. 'He' might be reading this.
