Dear all,
Does anyone use MTR tyres on their Range Rover?

I'm thinking of buying a set of Wrangler MTR tyres with 19" rims for my Range Rover but unsure whether they are just for 'hardocre' off roaders or whether they are a good road tyre as well?

Most of my driving is on road but I like the look of the chunkier tyres

Can anyone shed some light on whether they would be suitable or not? 2011 Range Rover TDV8 4.4 Vogue SE

They look good, but I wouldnt want to do any high speed or emergency cornering/braking, but if you adjust your driving habits to match then I'm sure they would be fine.

I would expect a lot more road noise from them too.

They are fine Use them on the FF & the RRS & The D3

Fine at autobahn speeds Fine around the Spanish Mountains

Noise is noticable in a nice sorta way IMHO if you are only going for looks you are wasting your money. But its your money

A 70/30 tyre is the Pirelli ATR

Not these, but I have had MT's before on Classics and p38's. Generally as a second set for just off roading etc. Logically with an aggressive tread you have less rubber on the road and therefor less grip, I wouldnt like to drive the L322 with these on a wet road.

On the other hand, with an A Bar, light guards, and other off road accessories the car would look great! I just wouldnt do enough off roading to justify the trade off - another thing to be aware of is that they will wear a lot quicker than a road biased tyre.

I've never had a wet road grip issue now thats not to say I wont but because of the aggressive tread pattern it get rid of the water quicker.

ive got MTR's on mine and i go off road regular , ive never had any concern on road with grip or otherwise after all with all the throbbing power the td6 puts out youve gotta be carefull !!!! .. The road noise is very little but yes it is there !!!! i use all year round and go on the motorway and at 70 odd you can barely hear them see my pics in my range rover under the beast surprisingly clean hope this helps  onto no6 Range Rover

Braking and general Grip under Wet Conditions is not very well marked....

Obviously the computers on the L322 will make the best of a bad situation. 

there are a few very varied oppinions there which are not really very convincing, i think if you never venture off road ore use the vehicle for off the road activities you would be better of with the ATR's . ive got complete confidence in the MTR's whatever the weather after all a 3 tonne FFRR isnt the quickest vehicle to slow down nor is it a racing car in the handling department onto no6 Range Rover

Sounds like they are a very good tyre, especially off road with little difference in road noise on motorway.

Thanks also for the heads up on the set for sale. I see they are also on eBay along with another set from another buyer...I'm very tempt.

I'll keep you posted on my decision.
