Do you mind me asking how long have you had your 5.0 S/C and how many miles has it done?

Not at all Chris...

Got it Feb 17 with 62k miles on it and its now at 84k miles...it was a private buy but from an enthusiastic car collector who looked after it properly. I've had 2 services at main stealer in my time (incl some expensive brake replacement bits) but otherwise no extra work needed yet. As you can tell from my milage I use it all the time and its an awesome car.

Yes its keyless go, but you need to press the fob to lock/unlock...

FWIW My experience with insurances/warranties/claims etc (house/car/phone/etc) is that I've never had the cover I thought I had when I need it despite paying for "Premium" cover with market leaders, so for quite a few years now I buy as cheap as I can find for minimum legal or no cover expecting to have no comeback and effectively self insure. I recognize its a risky strategy, but there's only so many times I was prepared to keep paying the premiums and then get told to naff off when something went wrong. I've found that the decent folk will still help sort problems, and the sharks obviously don't...but at least I don't have to try deal with them.

I do the same and find it works for me I do 20+ miles a year bought a 4.2 4 years ago for 14500 have done over 90 k in it so will swap it maybe this year or next year - enjoy your purchase and that grin will still be there in a couple of years

Do you guys reckon the full extended warranty would cover the engine if the timing chain guide broke with over 80,000 miles on the clock? Mine is a bit noisy but for three years the dealer has been telling me it's fine. 2012 5.0L S/C

I'm sure. 1 guy on RR.net had his tensioners fixed it was still noisey and the engine blew at 120k.

I think the tensioner didn't fully deploy but its possible it was fixed. I've seen some that didn't deploy and when I tried to bring it back the LR flat irons people told me that "they aren't supposed to deploy when you pull the pin" BS. OffRoadRover.com An American Western Range Rover Off Road Blog

Picked her up yesterday afternoon from Christchurch and nice 2hr evening drive to North Somerset. Very pleased with purchase so far. My XF was no slouch being a n/a 5.0 V8 but boy can this thing shift. I thought it would be ok from what I felt on the test drive but any worries I had that I would miss the power of the XF have been banished.

I even got 22.7 MPG on a 95 mile trip on cross country A roads with 40/30 zones and very few dual carriage ways, so happy with that too! ----------- Current Garage --------------------

Very nice, enjoy it and post some pics!

I've only had mine maybe 3 months now (it was originally from Westover Christchurch as well), and I still look forward to every time I need to use it.

Low/mid 20's mpg is definitely achievable with a 5.0 S/C on decent clear roads, but town traffic really kills it quickly!
