That funny bit on the bonnet, just above the wipers...

Having sat in the facelifted FF, there’s one thing that I prefer about it; they’ve got rid of that funny grey bit of plastic at the trailing edge of the bonnet. It’s the bit that looks like whatever they must use in make up to make a Klingon look like a Klingon! Rolling Eyes

Has anyone ever removed it and colour keyed it to make it look a little less like they’ve left a bit of the packing in place during the PDI? Rolling Eyes

I’m tempted to pass it to the man with the spray booth and get it painted Aintree Green Thumbs Up

I think it looks better ast the old grey was flaking off and looked tatty.

Sorry I can't help with getting it off as the garage took it off while they had the car for the gearbox and sent it to their preferred body shop.

I will take a photo or 2 and see if I can post them. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

It’s supposed to reference the vent on the L322 (like the fakey door vents) - on that, like the side vents, they came painted body colour as an option via Autobiography.

Looking forward to seeing it. I was thinking the same thing also. Next could be to color code everything: faux-vents, lower door trim, etc. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

There will be photos Thumbs Up

The side vents are already colour keyed (I agree, I like them that way), but quite like the horizontal grey “hockey sticks”, as horizontal stripes usually make any car look lower and longer Thumbs Up

It was easy enough to pry off between two of us and it’s now been left with the body shop to be done during the coming week.

Photos to follow...

Ive done several of these for customers... They just "pull off" a sharp pull upwards on a rear corner...

Most of them we have painted Silver, to match the silver 'Atlas' trim... We also paint the front tow eye covers as they "Annoy" customers too, being yet another plastic coloured part which matches NOTHING on a 405!!!

Ah, so it’s been done before then Thumbs Up

Fortunately, it’s the only bit on mine that I’d like to paint, but I’d gladly swap the plastic cover for a proper ally bash plate Thumbs Up

Dropped it off at the body shop late on Friday and to my amazement, it was ready at 11am on Monday morning! It's not the most salubrious of backgrounds, but it shows the result well enough Thumbs Up

Good old Aintree Green - it's never the same depending on the lighting and it's looking close to black today Rolling Eyes

I'm really pleased with the way that it matches the side vents now Thumbs Up I can't see why it didn't leave the factory like this Confused
