Well it seems to be reving freely now...

On the quick drive home last night it kicked down as before and reved through until 4.5k rpm. This weekend will tell as its normally when cruising on the motorway that it struggles to go from 65mph to 75mph...

A sticking EGR valve or a split in the turbo pipe could be causing the fault

Think it's best I try and get a hold of an OBD scanner and the connections to run it through the laptop.

Can anyone recommend the cables and software required?

Not sure the snap on code reader I used before was giving me the correct information
