As I said I have searched & all I could find was people saying they don't fit, my question was, am I missing something as on line tyre calculators say a 255 fits a 9.5" rim ? |

Cheers, I'd seen that. Just checked a few more online calculators & all say a 255 is ideal width for 9.5" rim yet all the posts on here say you need 275 tyres, just wondered why most people posting here contradict this ?

I read the same as you that they are too narrow, and will have said that on here. Though as you say, it’s on the edge....

I would use the 275 instead of 255 for the simple reason of curb damages to the wheels.

I've got 295s on my 9.5 sport wheels. They look just about right to me. RR History

Cheers for the replies, I'd prefer to keep to original 255/50 as I've just bought a full new set. Will keep a look out for some 8.5" wheels. I don't mind the original Westminster wheels but they're a pig to clean |
