Not sure I'd risk it.

I've read that the lubrication benefits are negligible.

talked about this here before and consensus was that it might work in a tractor [disco 3] but not much use on a more tech engine like the TDV8.. ... - .- -.

,

Steveo, I've used 2T for the past 90K km with no ill effects, first time i put 2T car had 86K km, it was immediate gratification, better power, smudnes, sound.. now I use 1/2 L on the full tank of fuel every 4~5 tankfull. if you decide to try use semi synthetic oil.
Thumbs Up
Nino,

I have been using for a few thousand miles now about 400 ml per tank and it seems to be quieter sounding and runs a bit smoother but that could be all in my head though! From what i read it will clean the fuel lines etc and perhaps be easier on the egrs etc so do it incase it has even the smallest benefits for the cost of the stuff its negligable Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

I used to do it and it did get quieter but simply couldn't be bothered measuring the ratio out, so just put the premium Diesel in now and get the same result.

I started putting in Dipetane in as I had an issue with a sticky fuel pressure regulator. £1400 for a new high pressure pump if it didn't work. It did and now it goes in every fill up. 2T will give the same lubrication to fuel system. It gets my vote Thumbs Up 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

What is 2t? Two stroke oil I'm guessing.

I've been using redex on my td6 for the last couple of months but I'm open to suggestions if there's a better option ...

It is 2 stroke oil yes. Not sure its better than redex just works out a bit cheaper as you can get 5 litres for £10 to £12 or so, maybe slightly more, but only use 400 to 500ml per tank so about 10 tank fulls at £1.20 or less per tank. Might be worth a try to see if it gives similar benefits for a few tanks? Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Discussion is good: facts are even better. A test with a diesel engine in the laboratory showed that with 200: 1 interference.

The exclusivity is here:

The results of the study support a view that the practice of dosing diesel with 2-stroke oil is surprisingly ineffective in terms of lubricity and cetane improvements. Engine performance, fuel consumption and emissions were also unchanged; however the use of 2-stroke oil in diesel is potentially harmful to modern diesel injection equipment. Trace amounts of zinc, an element which is found in most 2-stroke oils, are well known to cause injector nozzle fouling and the study measured high levels of injector fouling when the test engine was running on diesel dosed with 2-stroke oil. While the oil industry may not mind the additional revenue from the sale of 2-stroke oil with each tank of diesel, this study demonstrated that it is not in the best interest of the user to do so.
