Problems updating standard CD Changer to MP3 cd changer

Hi I have a 2004 vogue with the BMW sound system, I decided to update the standard cd changer to the newer BMW one that can play MP3 cd's but the plug on the new changer is different from the original one (I was under the impression it was supposed to be the same plug and a straight forward swap).

I have attached a couple of photos of the plugs can anyone tell
Me how I can resolve this?

It probably needs pinning in the same way that an Intravee is pinned.
You’ll need to find six pin and three pin plugs from a BMW (scrap yards are usually good for these).

Is there a model year of FF that plays MP3 CD's through the changer or do none of them do it?

Mines a 2005 S/c and in theory, should play mp3's through the multi changer. It doesn't though. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

To give closure to this thread I picked up the 6 pin plug from bmw for £4 and moved a couple of pins from the original harness to it and the new cd changer is now working although I don't have id3 MP3 info showing even though I am using the mk4 dvd based Nav unit - does anyone know how to get id3 info to display? 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast
