AAARGH I hate my RR

Hello again.

My RR broke down on Christmas Eve. As I was motoring along at around 60mph the car started to vibrate a bit and then the power just gradually fell away, I pulled into a layby and that was that. It would start up and but then couldn't maintain the revs and would just die again. It felt very similar to stalling a manual car IYSWIM.

Anyway it's since been at a garage where the initial diagnosis was a knackered fuel pump, that was replaced, the car started and this morning was taken out for a test drive where the same thing happened.

Any clues what it may be or has anybody had anything similar happen?

Thanks

Yes, there have been a few on here with similar problems.

Do a search and you should find some recent and older threads on this very topic.

Is the garage a LR Garage with the correct diagnostic equipment? You can't just plug any old diagnositc kit in to a FFRR and get the correct results.

In your search try the search terms ,"burning" , "pump relay" , "Coil pack", "low pressure" and "high pressure". That should give you plenty of reading on the matter.

Could be crud in the filters or even incorrect fuel added, though I'm sure thats already been considered and deffed out. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Sounds to me like a fuel filter issue. Was it replaced at the same time as the pump? 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior

Ooh I'm not sure. I'll have to check that one out.

So my car is still with my local indie...

The fuel pump isn't at fault but there is a problem getting power to it. Apparently it starts and then all of a sudden power to the pump cuts out and the car dies. Any clues because I'm becoming super frustrated and can't help but think it may be up for sale soon.
