Gearbox now!

Big Cry Drove into London and the gearbox played up big time, think it maybe overheated! After a couple of hours of crawling across central London it refused to shift through the gears.

When i put it in steptronic it would go into second but that was it. However after my meeting it drove fine, but makes a funny noise if i change from drive to reverse. Anyway, I got it recovered by the AA and taken to a tranny specialist.

At least if I have to get the tranny rebuilt, it'll be a little reasssurance if I'm going to get the engine done, maybe I'll have a little peace of mind (until the suspension goes!) Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

£1,500 if it needs a full rebuild, but I have AA breakdown repair insurance, and that covers the first £500. That's why I'm not too gutted.

Thats from a company I've used to build a similar gearbox in the past, the 5hp24 in the BMW E38 7 Series. They do a couple of these a week. But I'm hoping it may not need a full rebuild. May just needs new seals filters and refill. Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!
