Secure Overnight Parking in Central Manchester?

My wife and I are taking the FFRR to Manchester City Centre shortly and will need to park overnight. I've read online that both security on FFRR's isn't the best and also that the local NCP Car Parks in Manchester City Centre don't have CCTV, with several reports in their reviews stating that customers have had their cars broken in to.

We'll be staying at the Principal Hotel in Oxford Street M60 - Any recommendations for secure overnight parking please?

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter A police car got stolen out of their secure pound not long ago.

The hotel is directly outside Oxford Road station if you come on the train ??

Create time for more shopping and sightseeing by asking Manchester Police for a crime number in advance.

Trying to be more helpful, but sorry, best advice I can offer is avoid the NCP on Whitworth Street, which is just around the corner from the Refuge building (hotel). I think it was designed for minis. Serious scuff marks in the wall on every turn and very small parking bays.

Thanks guys - I've just been talking with my wife and instead of taking the 2016 4.4 SDV8 AB, we're going to take the dog mobile, (a 2007MY 4.4 V8 Vogue petrol), Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic car and I love it, but it looks like an absolute pig sty!

We use it for transporting our two 70kg Pyrenean Mountain dogs, it's absolutely filthy......Iif anyone breaks in they won't be able to get out fast enough Laughing

q park on first street is a secure car park, decent size spaces, not cheap though, went to a gig in manchester last night , didn't go in the FF though

The problem with trains is the huge variation in fares , when I wanted to take the family to London from warrington a tank full of fuel was 1/4 the price of 4 tickets

That is true, however I used to drive to London but now I train it as it’s cheaper and I can get straight into St pancs from derby in and hour and a half and I don’t need to park, or pay for parking, or worry about the car when I’ve parked it....(it’s all about the parking) Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Agreed train is definitely easier if you're traveling alone , though a mate of mine had to go to London on a business trip , rocked up at the station at 6am and was stunned when they wanted £300 for a return ticket

Take the RR at those prices. Pay the congestion charge, drive where you want, pay for parking £40 all day and let's call it £50 on diesel depends where you're coming from but let's call it £100 and you can take 5 people. In style. Door to door.

. Cheers, Greg

Seriously.
Check the Metrolink map. Choose a leafy suburb 6 or 7 stops outside the city (e.g. Brooklands/Timperley/Sale. Park outside a nice house (but not mine!) down a quiet street, under a lamp post - the resident permits are only until 5.00pm near me, and you get 3 hours free before. Take the tram back to the city.
Of course this guarantees nothing, but your car won't be in a car park all night screaming 'steal me' Current: 2007 RR 4.2 SC, now deceased, written off by an X5

This sort of thread is why we have an old faithful RAV4 that we use for Tesco runs, the local tip, to and from our allotment etc. We keep the Fattie for long and/or low risk trips. I know some will say "it's a shame if you don't use it" but I keep my cars mint and hate the idea of them being vandalised or worse. See my Gatwick parking thread for details!
