4.4 TDV8 oil in water tank

I just sold my 2010 4.4 TDV8 to a chap. A guy came and collected it yesterday evening and delivered it to the chap who bought it today (it was driven 300 miles to the buyer). As far as I was concerned the car was perfect. I had just spent £400 on it that morning doing some suspension bits to be sure it was 100% for the guy.

I got a whatsapp video today, he shows me there is very little water in the water bottle and it has dirty black oil in the bottom of the bottle (header tank).. I'll try upload the video..

Any ideas on cause? There are no warning lights, it drives fine, not smoking, getting hot air ok (or at least it did when it left me).. just an empty water bottle with oil in it..?

Thanks for any help, this is very worrying.. 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone

Thanks I'll have a look at that thread.. just posted the video above that I got from the rather concerned chap this morning. It should show the issue better than I can explain it. (*thanks for your help!) 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone

it appears that oil from a faulty oil cooler gets into the coolant and ends up in the tank... ... - .- -.

Thank you for clarifying, this is what we both suspected, his 2nd opinion chap thought the same, I just spoke with the garage that worked on it yesterday and they say the same too.. so all pointing towards a faulty oil cooler. Thank goodness it's not something much worse. Bow down

I am going to get in touch with the dealer I bought it from in January, it's still under warranty.. 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone
