TD6 Crankcase breather. - Replacement with Cyclonic

Chaps, I was just browing a freelander forum (for the Mrs TD4) and came across a thread

http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=30982&st=0 which basically states there is a replacement BMW part that replaces the TD4 Crankcase breather with a Cyclonic breather.

Just wondering if anyone has done this on the TD6 as the part number looks to be the same.

Would this make it fit and forget then? Don't know alot about cyclonic breathers to be honest. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Having read the full thread it appears it does fit the TD6 to!

well worth replacing i had the one on my bmw 530d changed about a month ago, the one that came out was really not nice....can prolong the life of the turbo so well worth doing. I believe that bmw now change it as a service item.

First thing I changed when I bought the FF

Saves changing the foam filter every year and eliminates the danger of it blocking causing back pressure

Yes... ish Smile Thats the origional type filter. BMW now apparently fit the cyclonic type which is pretty much fit and forget. No worries of clogging up, no worries of sudden dip stick launching through the bonnet and old faithfull gushing oil from the tube. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Hi to all.Has anyone in forum installed the new cyclonic filter in his td6 without having any problem?
If yes i would appreciate to give me ,if is known, the part nr of full kit of this new filter.
