Is this too good to be true

Been after a Fullfat for more years than I care to remember but after dabbling with lots of other Land Rover products finally found a SC 2006 (4.2) 120,000 miles two owners. I have taken it for a test, albeit only for a few miles, but it does drive (and sound) rather nice. Appears to have been well looked after, inside and out really good condition. Newish matching Pirelli Scorpions and all for £7k! The only problem, it does'nt have much if any service history.
This is at a small fairly well established car dealers offering the usual 3 month warranty but for keeping my anxiety level down I would take it for a full and comprehensive service at my local independent LR workshop.

Thanks in anticipation, your thoughts and comments will be very much appreciated.

For £7k I'd go for it - won't be around long if it's that good 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I've noticed it on auto trader and keep thinking of going and having a look as it's not too far from me.

Not 100% on the 405 wheels as I think the standard one's suit them better but it's a common upgrade.

go for it. Sometimes trade ins are really low and that maybe more than they have been offered by a dealer. The 4.2SC is a really solid drivetrain. OffRoadRover.com An American Western Range Rover Off Road Blog

Change all the fluids if no history - and that’s all of the fluids
I bought a 4.2 in December with history , and have since replaced the fluids touted as “for life” and feel better for it at least Very Happy

Nice one. I had a look around the outside whilst I was there, just needs a good machine polish to bring the paint back to its best I recon (like most dark coloured cars), interior looks really nice. Good buy I'd say at that price especially as it's a one owner.

Had a look at the supercharged sport they had in but not really into them. Apparently both cars came from the same family.

Owner of the garage seams a nice chap. He asked if he could buy my td6!

Good luck with your new purchase.

If you've got the genuine LR handbooks page277 it only lists the diesel as filled for life ( auto box ) and not the petrols
Also in there some where is the recommended mileage change ( iwill try to find it but I think it's around 50 thou.)
It also lists the correct spec as shell ATF M1375.4 so why list it in the handbook if not meant to be changed/refreshed.
In my experiences dealer history need to be looked very carefully and sometimes aren't worth a light.
It wouldn't put me off buying a nice car, remember even though the dealer stamps your book the works only as good as the spanner man that did it on the day. Range rover 4.2 SC 06MY.
