The head unit only has the cassette player and its pre-amp, all the rest is in the electronics cabinet in the left rear compartment next to the spare wheel. The head unit communicates (via I-Bus in pre 2005) to all the 'bits-in-the-boot' (and optionally the CD changer behind the glove box).

hello thank you for your answers, I had already seen the piBus, but my goal is to keep the original system and replace the CD player with an emulator / USB system, SD card, MP3 player technically it should be possible right?
