(Lack of) Range Rovers in Thailand

Granted this is a bit random...

Arrived in Bangkok and after two days I've not seen any Range Rovers. Not even an Evoque. Not one 322, not one Sport, Not one 405 and no Velars.

The odd Merc, one Macan and one Panamera other than that Toyotas. I'd have thought the Asian market was chomping for LR vehicles.

Come to think of it I've not seen any Discoveries either, small or large.

Did pass a Lamborghini dealer on the way from the airport. So there's a luxury market here. Bit weird that's all.

I'll keep you posted!

 Cheers, Greg

Do they perhaps have massive import duties / taxes on foreign / luxury cars like some countries.
I think Malaysia as an example used to have an 100% import tax above a certain value. Paul,

Perhaps they are all parked outside the bang bang bar, or all gone (2) Phuket? Rolling with laughter Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Saw a number of them in Malaysia last year but none in Thailand.

They do have 4x4's though.

Even if they do have only three wheels. Rolling Eyes

I lived on Phuket for two years, I bought a brand new Isuzu DMAX pick up, 4 cab, 4x4 and had a custom leather interior put in it, total cost was around £14k, this was the top of the range at that time. It was the ideal vehicle for the climate, no heater fitted, just cool aircon, why on earth would anyone need to spend nearly 10x as much on a Rangie in those conditions. 4.2SC; 1960 TR6; XF Sportbrake

Ok just an update as I know many of you are desperate to hear Smile

So far, after several days in and around Bangkok including a 5 hour road trip: nothing. Not one LR vehicle at all, only a handful of Mercs.

Now we're in Phuket - and still no Range Rovers.

As mentioned ^ it's all about the pick up truck here.

30 degree weather sure beats the UK right now. Now if only I had my cooled seats and serene 322 interior.

. Cheers, Greg

^ must be the only one... a week here and still not a LR product to be seen.

Here's the local petrol station. 5.0s will need a few of these:

Yes that's petrol in those whiskey bottles. 40baht is around 80p. Seen quite a few petrol stations like this.

30 degrees here. Still miss the Vogue.
