Compatible phones

Anyone know whether the iPhone 8 and the Google Pixel 2 are compatible in the new car? Can't see either under the listing on LR site. If they are do they work with texts>

Seriously, google do search your email looking for keywords certainly thru gmail, I would bet my bottom dollar anything else they produce feeds their computer in the sky.

iPhone ... I do recall a policy statement in the financials along the lines of... Apple aim to make their money via apps and music/downloads...others were using the advertising route. On the basis that any chance for less adverts works for me, I paid the extra money needed to go Apple iPhone .

U do need someone else to comment about operating system 11 which is current, I don’t do a lot of interaction tween car and phone other than a few phone calls, which work.

Good morning Chalky

My iPhone Range Rover app died today...

Looking at the Apple web site reviews, the rangerover remote app is slaughtered... some put it down to the new operating system Io11. Will start a new topic for this later.

Best u look at android reviews for their Range Rover app

I’m pretty sure you will get more ads on Android, but then it’s all about choices...

Good morning to you too Bill!

Thanks for that info, I'm thinking of changing my iPhone to a Pixel but as I haven't even got the new car yet, I'll hold fire until it arrives then check my son's iPhone 8 in it and see if it works then decide.

Just looked at reviews of the app with ios and Android Bill....pretty damning I'd say!

I don't think it's a great idea to come on this forum, there seems to be so much negativity with the car, not just apps but lots of other things (steering wheel switches, seats, Duo Pro etc) which should not be happening with a £100k car.

I've had (over my 72 years), 12 LR cars and I must say I've had next to no trouble with any of them (9 FFRR's and 3 Disco 4's), but I must say it appears, that either people's expectations are far higher (no bad thing there!) or that LR really is losing the plot with the latest cars. I hope it's the former..... Whistle

Chalky : If you are looking for recommendations for phones ? then any modern phone will work but 2 stand out as excellent LG G6 or LG V30 both from carphone warehouse both are top spec phones and someone told me that the top spec pixel phones are made by LG , Samsung S8 or S9 are also excellent .

Thanks Charlie.

Bit torn to be honest as I've always had iPhones, but battery on my latest one is rubbish so thinking of moving.

Yes, I read that LG make a lot of phones for all sorts of people.
