I am guessing that number 5 is the culprit.

Is this the EGR temperature sensor that causes the P040D-00 (2F) Fault code. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

You right Mike, however I needed Your PDF to confirm that That is the sensor. now I have to wait for Dan to deliver.

Nino,
If changing the sensor permanently clears your P040D-00(2F) error report I will have a go at changing mine, but although the iid has been showing the fault on mine for a couple of months now, I have not noticed any problems whilst driving the car.?

Mike, I have had P040D-00(2F) fo over two years now-with no ill effects, our friend from down under, GraemeS, replace his only for the fault to cam back in a short time. But since I would like to clean my air intake plenum (it is 20K km past last time i did, I may as well replace the sensor.
