Differences between 2011 Westminster and 2011 Autobiography

Hi Guys, I am looking to update to a newer RR and will be going to look at two cars. They both have between 90k and 100k on them and are priced the same. I have looked to see what the different models have on them but can't seem to find any conclusive comparisons. Can anyone help with:
1) the differences between the models and
2) any possible problems that I should be looking for (I have read about turbo oil pipe problems but how do you check this without stripping down engine panels)
Thanks in advance

Westminster came out Feb 2012 and replaced Vogue and Vogue SE. Mainly you'll find the AB has a ton more leather; full leather headlining, dash front and door cards. Speaker grilles have a silver edge too. In the AB you have ceiling mounted vanity mirrors. AB's can also have custom seats like two-tone and other colours that are exclusive to AB. Check this out:

Having had both, for MY11 and MY12 cars I think you have to assess each specific car on it's own merits options wise, for example I believe the Westminsters all had the HD sound upgrade (if thats important to you) but this was optional on AB's, things like deployable side steps, RSE etc. I believe were options across both. Condition and history should probably be the key factor (plenty of very ropey examples out there) unless there's an option you absolutely must have.

Ref the oil drain modification, if you know where to look, in extended hight mode and with a torch, you are able to just about make out te additional drain tube from underneath, if its on a ramp, even easier.

See which seats you find comfortable too.

I compared an AB side by side with a Westminister when I was looking.
The westminister seats are piped, and although being heated/cooled have a different profile and made of a different leather.
Personally I found the AB seats more comfortable. I did notice though that the lighter coloured seats in the ABs showed more signs of wear on the bolsters though, probably due to the softer leather.

The AB leather dash top is nice, as are the headlining, door cards, etc.
You don't notice the headlining and rear visors though when driving it. They put a smile on my face each time I look around the cabin though.

The westminister I looked at didn't have the same over mats either, not sure if they are all like that though.

Personally if the mileage, condition, colour are the same I would have the AB. Too many toys, not enough time

The problem with the Westie seats are they look “old fashioned” or even “basic” compared to the previous VSE models and seam like a step in the wrong direction IMHO...

All those extras are nice to have.. but I just wanted a Range Rover and chose the only one that sang to me (colour/cabin combo, wheels etc)..that just happened to be a Vogue.
My last one was a VSE, it had a few more toys that I didn't use and don't miss? - RSE that was nothing more than pest when the kids got in (want this on, want that on..i'd rather listen to Radio2)..it had heated/cooled seat that didn't work for driver - now I have a working bog standard heated seat. Current car has a wood steering wheel which is lovely, but I guess that was an added extra.

Meh.. just buy the car that sings to you.. rear tv's, cooled seats or leather roof make no difference when you're out there in the snow. Thumbs Up 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone

Here's the brochure that shows the differences between the 2 model variants.... These are for a 2012 but from memory there wasn't a lot that changed.

Hi guys, thanks for all of the advice. I have just got back from test driving the AB and can honestly say that both my wife and I were happy with it. So much so, that we didn't bother going to look at the Westie and purchased it on the spot. It comes with 12 months Platinum RAC warranty which we can extend and it is having a couple of things done to it before we pick it up. I must say that compared to my TD6 which I loved, this thing is awesome. The Best 4x4 by far, so long as you have deep pockets.

I will put pics up when we pic it up as it is having two tyres changed and a recall doing before we collect it. The Best 4x4 by far, so long as you have deep pockets.

Good choice. The Westminster is a Vogue plus and did not replace the Vogue SE because I bought the VSE over the Westminster at the time for that reason. The Westminster was an option boosted Vogue runout model. The AB is a further step up on the VSE spec. Congrats! MY23 D350 HSE

So as far as I can make out, in terms of standard items the list goes;
Vogue
Westminster
VSE
Autobiography

As the Westminster only really had the upgraded 1200W sound system.
