How have you reached the decision the engine needs to come apart? I ask as we have had a few 3.6’s hydrolock themselves on their own oil! A week later they are only locking up via half a turn etc etc etc... |

Figured I’d need to get the head off at least to find out where the egr piece has gone and took glow plugs out and one was gunky so think there’s bad compression there.

STOP! Don’t run the car at all! You may well find the EGR has gone through the turbo and the turbo has relocated itself inside one of the cats...

Wouldn’t the fact there’s metal and oil in the intake part mean that I’m already too late? __

Don replace the EGRs just remove and blank exhaust, cycle coolant pipes, and fit emulators. I’ve fitted these but left my EGRs in place, and inoperable in the closed position.

I'd get a price off Craig for both eventualities I.e. The Remedial work and in worst case scenario an engine rebuild - at least you would know it would be done correctly 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |
