This might sound mad but have you double checked the pressures? It really makes a big difference.

Check your pressures. Sounds like your garage may have over inflated the tyres. I think my fronts are at 32psi.. they were at 36 and drove awful, very bumpy twitchy and light. With 32psi, much better.. I am running 20's though... 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone

I have Conti, 275/40/20 and run them on the low pressure / light load setting as there is only usually max 2 or 2 in the car - and usually just me. They are fine - yes they are firmer but not excessive. As said above check your pressures - and also check your gauge as I have one that runs 3 psi too much.

Contis seem to have quite soft shoulders, hence these wear off quickly, but they do seem to give a quieter and softer feeling ride. Pirellis a bit firmer but more durable. The 2015 brochure says "if 22" wheels are fitted ride and road noise will be degraded on some coarser road surfaces, conversely steering and handling will be slightly improved on faster roads."

That's exactly why I bought an extra set of 285/50/20 on std L405 Wheels to compliment my 22's - they go on in the shooting season. The 285's give even more sidewall than a skinny L322 255/50/20 Tyre 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |
