Hi everyone, new member here. I've just bought a 2012 Westminster 4.4 & in the centre armrest instead of the usb / Aux socket I think should be there is just a plug. A neighbour has a RR Sport & he lent me a lead that he bought for his but the plug he connects to his car is the same ( female ) type connector that I have on mine so they don't fit together. I Googled the leads & they all appear the same as his, can you get a female to male adaptor or is something missing from my car ?

Without checking, the iPod connection is inside on the drivers side.... the usb socket is inside on the front side, a few inch down....

If that makes any sense?



Looking online they may both be at the front of the cubby.....I’ve only ever used the usb....

the lead is a JLR standard lead.

I have one in my 2012, and it was in the car when I bought it. The lead is a 30 pin apple to JLR connector.

iPhones and pods wont connect via the USB though you could load a stick full of music. there are several non genuine ones on Amazon or you could ask Dan (duckworthparts) for a price.. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The USB / iPod socket is what should be there but all I have is a plug on the end of a cable which I suspect would have plugged onto the back of the missing socket. Question is, will I need to get the missing USB / iPod socket or can I get a lead that would plug straight into the socket I have ?

I believe this is the type of cable you need (although u May want to pay more for a genuine article)

Hi, thanks for the reply. The link you've sent is the correct cable if I had the LR USB / Ipod socket but mine is missing this socket so I am left with a female plug hanging out of the hole in the centre armrest which the same as on the end of the lead in the link i.e. both female so they won't plug together. I may need to replace the missing socket but was just wondering if you could get an adaptor the join the 2 female ends together ?

Weird that you don't have the socket btw.
See what a few others think but I think you will need the socket and the lead.
You could always get the lead and see first.

Yep you will need the socket and the lead. Other wise it’s a double female version of that plug and I’m pretty sure they don’t do one of those.....

the socket is available as a separate item. Part number LR021802 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
