from what I can remember, the strut bolts directly into the inner wing. the top mount is integral to the strut, so if that has failed I'm not sure it is possible to replace on its own, I have had a look on microcat and I can't see any extra info, it looks like the top mount of the strut is part of the assembly. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Ive seen Dunlop ones that have developed a knock.think it was the struts shock itself that failed . Worth a check |

Thanks guys, does that mean the shock is integral to the strut or can you replace the shock separately do you know?

For the sake of a lot of hassle I would just get a new strut. I’ve seen replacement bags but no shocks.somebody may know better ? |

Cheers, just did some searching on Dunlop struts and it sounds like your right - exactly what I am experiencing. Looks like might need a new Delphi unit then

You could try contacting Dunlop about it as i belive they did exchange some of them as it is a known problem however when I tried contacting them via their website, email and even twitter direct message and their twitter page they ignored absolutely every method I tried . I’m sure I phoned them but couldn’t speak to anyone useful so mine are still knocking. I bought mine new from island 4x4 but by the time I had changed everything else suspension related to try and trace the noise they were out of warranty and so they didn’t give a crap either.

The response I got back from island 4x4 was it could be the top bearing as they only last around 2 years but I’m guessing that is if you only drive it twice in those 2 years, once to test the Dunlop struts and a second to drive to pick up your new Delphi ones |
