Hi there guys. Wondering if anyone could recommend a specialist to replace the timing chain on my 5.0 sc in Yorkshire? RR have quoted £4056 just in labour and aren't really enthusiastic about doing it either. Any help would be appreciated as its got the common diesel sounding rattle and id like to get it fixed ASAP |

Might be worth trying Simmonites - used them for my Defender even when it was in warranty. Excellent for Defenders, not used them Range Rover wise but would expect them to be good there too.

Mines got just under 90k on it at the moment, not much considering it’s a 2009 so average 10k a year done on it. Tried Quattro in Selby but they’ve said they don’t have the tools I think it needs a trip to the dealers as the more I look into it the less I believe it’s the timing chain, it’s misfiring too and that may be the cause of the rattle |

Oh yes I was searching for them but couldn’t quite remember their name! I’ll give them a call and see what they can do |

Thanks - from all my research so far 90-100k seems to be when these things start causing problems. I hope you get it sorted soon, I'll be watching in interested as I rather suspect I'll end up buying a 5.0 S/C anyway despite this apparent flaw! |

You can make on offer on mine if you like. It’s a genuine Kahn RS600 model with 1 previous owner like the one in this pic

Thanks for the offer, but sadly my main two requirements are not black or white exterior, and no Kahn/Overfinch upgrades - that seems to rule out 80%+ of S/C's! |

Wow I agree, probably most of them ruled out! Good luck finding one though l, I’d recommend the vogue centre as they seem to be one of the only dealers aware of this timing chain issue and get them sorted before sale |
