New MOT rules re DPF, should my aging TD6 be worried?

As above, heard there are new rules regarding DPF on diesels, will this effect our 2003 TD6 please?

Also, I was planning a EGR blank next month, is this related at all? (Excuse my lack of knowledge)

Don’t think they can strip anything, so if you take the egr off and replace with the blanking kit they won’t see it..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

No engine covers or undertrays are removed in an MOT. Your TD6 does not have a DPF either.

Just resurrecting this old posts guys, I read earlier about if any smoke it visable from the exhaust its a fail too on the new MOT, does this sound right?

If so, i thought most old diesels smoked a bit?

As far as I know the visible smoke point only applies to vehicles fitted with DPFs
For cars not fitted with such a device the mot is as before ie smoke test only.

In the UK, it was with the introduction of the 4.4 TdV8; it was optional on the 2010 3.6 version, but not many took it up. Regards,

My 2008 L322 3.6TDV8 has a DPF and I'm very much worried about the subjective visible smoke test. MOT due 22/12/2018.

Has anyone else had experience of the visible smoke test. Hopefully the tester will employ a reasonalbe level of common sense.

Cheers

Paul
