36K service

My Googleforce has failed me. Before I phone about, how much should the 36k service cost at main dealer?

Hi
I thought about a main stealer service Twisted Evil then I found a local 4x4 centre that smashed the dealers price. Thumbs Up
This service centre does not effect the cars warranty.

I used North Eastern 4X4 small service cost £205 (oil and pollen change) against £640 from Stratstone. Big service £285 (oil, pollen, fuel and air filter)

Keep on with google to see what is near you.

Had two service now at North Eastern 4X4 and will be going back. (Just some more useless information they were also the cheapest for tyres)

I assume the “captive” part of a main dealer service though is updating the online service history now there are no service books to stamp Shocked

Several threads on this broad subject - and it really depends how long you're keeping it for.

For a few years a MD service history will command a premium when you come to sell - but that premium diminishes over time/mileage, so you need to factor in the difference in service cost & decide what makes sense for you.

Don't forget - and speaking from experience here - any issues out of warranty are far more likely to be looked favourably on as a goodwill gesture if you have a full main agent service history. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Some independents can update your online history.

Round my way - for example - Langley 4x4 are approved by LR to do it. What do I put here then?

There may also be software updates that probably need a main dealer. I know Topix has 3 outstanding on my L405

It's also worth bearing in mind that while the manufacturer can't insist on you going to a dealer for service work during the initial 3 year warranty, LR's own extended warranty can and does.

It's a 2015 model with 2 years LR warranty. I prefer to take it to the MD for the services. It's amazingly difficult to find prices. Guess I'll end up phoning about. 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

Phone round get the best price and challenge the dealer on theirs.

You can also cut the cost by supplying your own oils and filters, use gen filters obviously, and the right spec oil but that can cut a decent chunk out of the bill, especially if you get the oil online from the likes of Opie.

Was quoted £730 for the inspection 1 due on my 322. which was very steep. I got them to trim this by over £100. But forgot to get my oil in time.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Agree with nmj.

If you phone round half a dozen LR garages, you can see variations amounting to hundreds of pounds.

Worth an hour of your time Thumbs Up
