When I lived on Gloucester Place we had a similar event, did not flood the street but wiped out dozens of basement flats. Luckily I was higher up.

One of the genuine reasons for moving from a nice sensible car to a “horrible” 4x4 in the first place was to fight back against the menace of “traffic calming” speed bumps and speed cushions - and that’s in Cornwall! I can only imagine what it must be like in London now |
