HYBRID and 22 inch wheels

Does anybody know why the P400e can not be specified with 22 inch wheels?

Maybe it just pushes it over some weight threshold ?
As you say, it’s hard to see how it makes that much difference......

Will it not be something to do with gearing or rolling mass or something, as thats all that would be impacted.

I know in the Outlander I was told I had to buy a type of tyre and also had to have those exact wheels or the warranty gets chucked out the window.

I'll ask the missus what effect an extra inch or 4 would do!!! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter all smug in my new plug!

22’s might also transmit shocks or vibration to the batteries more than smaller wheels......

thats a good point, as that is a true side effect I found when the hire car had 21's.

Still like the double 2's tho. But after 25k on them in a year I wish I'd got 21's. all smug in my new plug!

It might be a noise/vibration issue with the 4 cylinder engine. Remember the L322 TD6 wasn't supposed to have bigger wheels.

I noticed hardly any difference between 18 and 19 inch wheels on my TD6. 20's might be another case.

Just an update to this thread. My mate and I have noticed the RRS P400E now has 22 inch wheels as a dealer fit option.
I don't know how long its been available on there? We'll be checking in with the local dealer again to see if there's any updates for the FFRR.

It might not be anything to do with this but - The rolling radius of 275/40/22 is less than 255/55/20, I.e. The 22's are less higher geared and give a bit more acceleration.

How do I know? I have both 22's and 20's and I slung a tape round them - plus the online calculators also show a difference 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
