Pretty sure I remember a few folks doing the same... from memory only available as part of the panel. Try some “mitre Mate” or similar, activator type superglue. Sets pretty hard on most substrates and will stick it👍🏻 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Sorry for wrong section , thought it might be a techie help as well as wanted, however , Mitre mate....Halfords? I’m wandering if I could embed some very small pins into both bits as well as some sort of glue. Is Araldite the same as Mitre mate ?

Screwfix, araldite is not the same. Much more messy. Mitrefix is colourless and fast grab. But don’t be tempted to operate the switch for an hour or 2.

Something like this though other brands are available, never done it on one before but I’ve stuck all manner of things with it and once cured it’s stronger than most substrates.

Didn't really work , the plastic is too hard to grip the button, so I drilled two small 1mm holes and dropped or gently pushed two small panel pins in to what was left of the surface leaving a small amount protruding so that the button can sit onto them . Unfortunately to secure the button which had a void inside to accommodate the pins and so filled these up with molecular metal. This part didn't work so well as the pins had too much movement and so the button is not too stable , perhaps I will try Araldite instead? Neutral
