Also, problem disappears under hard acceleration... but is pronounced under idle and very light throttle. __

Hate to say it, but that sounds like some unhappy injectors... But I could still be suffering from Roverphobia Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

My TD6 had I very occasional lumpy tick over which gradually got worse to the point it was doing it all the time.

If your car is reasonably low mileage then you could try some injector cleaner, but if it's anywhere neer 100k +/- 20k then I'd suspect the injectors could do with a deep clean and testing on a test rig. If you're not doing the removal yourself then I'd suggest either a trusted indy, or a Bosch Service Centre..... 2 reasons for this, you'll save on the labor and importantly the Stealers will not fit recon injectors, they'll just replace with new and charge you the equivalent of a full clean and test by the diesel specialist per injector...... so if you want to pay up to 8x too much you know where to take it Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Don’t be too hasty removing the injectors either as the seals and pipes need replacing each time they are removed and that adds up too!!! £100 ish each cylinder springs to mind, but it has been some time since we last did some... |
