Things to do before remap

Hi guys, picking up 2010 3.6 tdv8 with 115k on it tomorow.
Obviously want to remap to improve drivability, is there anything I should be doing before the remap to keep it in good health?
It has history but what should be on the to do list to keep it trouble free?
Guessing to leave the gearbox alone as it’s too old now, but changing transfer box and diff fluids should get done.

Recommendations on a RR remap specialist in north London/ harlow area would be great

Cheers for any help

Not heard that gearbox logic before..... I'd be changing all the fluids.

Battery depending on age

I did my remap at home using the BAS Tool which is highly regarded. They also do a version that you can load from an IID tool if you're planning on buying one of those Thumbs Up

first thing to do is to drive it before you get it mapped, you might be pleasantly impressed with it as it is. ... - .- -.

Tell me more about doing it by Iid tool, I suppose I’d be getting that. Where can I find this and info to do it?
Are decent maps available with this method?
The gearbox logic is if it hasn’t been changed already it can dislodge crap and cause problems this late on

Fair enough - I heard that with a power flush, didn't think a regular change would do any harm....

Here's a few threads that mention bot IID & BAS so hopefully theres some useful info in there.

I did mine many years ago using the regular tool (before the IID link up) and it worked well - the main difference was fixing a low end flat spot coming off roundabouts - but as Stan says, have a drive first - it might even have already been re-mapped.....

Just to add my pennies worth , i had my 3.6 remapped and the throttle response was greatly improved. The flat spot is a pain in the 3.6 and my remap did remove it. 2015 4.4 AB
