Recall for Virtual Display Instrument Cluster (IC) Going Blank - Range Rover & Range Rover Sports

Anybody else received the recall letter today?

It's funny you say that.

My car went in today for the update and the car is now f##ked up. The display has packed up and the car can't even be started.

The dealer has asked LR technical support for advice and has ordered a new instrument cluster just in case.

I hope the safety recall didn't improve safety by stopping me ever driving the car again.

Does your car have rear seat entertainment by any chance? There is a good reason for asking this.

The car doesn't have rear seat entertainment.

I understand that would make the update fail too.

Apparently the instrument cluster has been replaced today.

Must be a hell of a safety update to do damage like this!

When I telephoned the main Dealer to book my vehicle in they told me that they would take my details and be in touch. Having problems with the update, the first two they did crashed the systems so awaiting instructions from Jaguar Landrover.
Other than the heads up display not working for a short period of time in North Yorkshire its been fine.

Rolling with laughter yep that sounds about right for Landrover as they take a leaf out of Apple's operating model. Their next step in planned obsolescence is to offer you a new new car for another 5 million gold coins. "That will fix the problem sir" Laughing

Right, someone on the sport forum had a perfectly working car that went in for this and now has no end of problems.

My car went in yesterday for update. Was done after 2 hours and all is working as it was. Had another update done as well.
Havnt noticed any difference.
